  2.         Information For Setting Up Puma Version 1.00 with GT Power 15.XX
  3.         ----------------------------------------------------------------

  5. Intro: This file will give you step by step instruction for installing the
  6.        Puma External Transfer Protocol for use with GT 15.XX by P & M
  7.        software. Puma has proven for be a very nice batch transfer protocol
  8.        and highly reliable. (In most cases it is as fast as or faster than
  9.        ZModem(tm)) Enclosed you will find samples of the PUMASET setup
  10.        screen and the 2 batch files required by GT to install Puma.

  19. Step 1: Load GT use the ALT-I command to bring up the GT Setup Screen
  20.         Select Option # 5  for external protocol setup
  21.         Follow the above examples and add P for Puma and PU for the
  22.         batch file activation name. Puma is not two way and doesn't
  23.         require an overlay.

  25. Step 2: Exit GT

  27. Step 3: Unzip or Unpack PUMA100.ZIP into your GT directory
  28.         then run PUMASET.EXE
  29.  
  30. Step 4: Before you do step 3 you might want to print the puma9600 if you
  31.         have a Hayes 9600, USR 9600 HST, or a NMP modem. If you have a
  32.         standard modem 2400/1200 Hayes compatible use the puma1200 file
  33.         instead.

  35. Step 5: Match the configuration in the puma9600 or puma1200 modify to fit
  36.         your needs if you have too. (BTW - We have found through testing
  37.         that using Puma's RLE compression will not slow down the transfer
  38.         of compressed files!!) Remember if you have a 16555 chip to change
  39.         that to yes.

  41. Step 6: You might want to modify your Protocol.BBS and Protocol.CBS files
  42.         to include PUMA if you haven't already.

  44. Step 7: Enjoy Puma!

  49. P.S. Make sure the PUTX.BAT and PURX.BAT are in your GT directory with out
  50.      them Puma will not work!
